CHICAGO, ILLINOIS - U.S.-Africa Trade and Investment Forum is the Premier US-Africa trade event in the Midwestern US. Hosted by the Continental Africa Chamber of Commerce USA in collaboration with the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity, this annual event brings companies, entrepreneurs, and government officials from the US and African Countries together for the sole purpose of increasing US trade, partnerships and investments between Africa and the US. This event takes place in America’s industrial and Agricultural heartland. The forum will go beyond networking: it is designed to be a structured face-to-face engagement opportunity for US and African businesses and geared towards achieving results.
Expected at the forum are many stakeholders in Trade, Commerce and Government from USA and Africa including but not limited to:
- US companies with emphasis on companies from Illinois and Midwestern States.
- African companies, entrepreneurs and banks
- Major U.S trade related Agencies, Banks, Businesses, and Trade specialists
- African Ministers of Trade and Industries, Ambassadors and Governors
- African regional trade and development organizations including ECOWAS, CEMAC and SADC
U.S. and African companies will engage in structured one-on-one discussions. The State of Illinois, other Midwestern States and Federal agencies will be on hand to discuss international trade programs and facilities designed to promote US-Africa trade. High level African officials will discuss the ever growing slate of opportunities on the African continent and efforts by African governments to attract foreign investments.
Several successful engagements and relationships have resulted from participation in previous forums. Africa is growing and significant opportunities exist for US Businesses of all sizes. With US jobs at stake and the increasing reach and competition of Asian States in Africa, forums like this one provide an important opportunity for US business to compete in the global market place. The forum also provides a real opportunity and choice for African companies and governments in the global market place.
